JP's Public service announcement on Heart Health on MP3

The Bozeman Daily Chronicle on 9/16/08 posted an editorial about candidates filling out the vote smart questionaire. 

Here's some of what they said:

Project Vote Smart has a proven track record of non-partisan objectivity. The questions are not loaded; they are not crafted to trap the candidates. Check it out for yourself on the Web site. The questionnaire is simply designed to elicit accurate information about the candidates’ positions.
    And a candidate worthy of our support owes us at least that much

Note: JP's opponent did not fill out the Vote Smart questionaire.

Send J.P back to state Legislature

    When I was young, my father once gave me some insight into state legislation in Idaho in the 1930s, where we once lived. He told me that a person in our church who was a state legislator had run for the office only so that he might affect legislation appropriate for the trucking industry, as he was the co-owner of a large interstate trucking firm. This person was willing to trade votes on any issue as long as it achieved the desired ends for trucking. School funding or issues of public health or safety were of no concern to him. I was surprised and disappointed.
