JP should have another opportunity to employ her skillful understanding of state government. Investigating and studying issues before drafting bills or voting on them is her style of legislating. JP invests time and energy in getting in touch with the people she represents and encourages them to air their concerns. She is a fifthgeneration Montanan who, in her words, wants to "recognize what we love in Bozeman and in Montana" and promises to work at protecting that.
JP exhibits a strong concern for human rights. Bills she voted on in the last session reflect that: protecting privacy on hunting licenses; granting licenses to disabled hunters; expanding medical care for uninsured children in Montana. She balances her concern for the environment, particularly water issues, with economic ones, devoting time to solid research. She voted for tax increment finance districts as well as the elimination of the business equipment tax.
JP is definitely a "good gal," but she’s more. She’s an experienced and effective legislator and we all benefit by sending her back to Helena this November. She’s the wisest choice.
